"Project Ford" UFO Event 2025
Written by Marc Martin on .
A UFO filming location tour and convention near London in 2025!
A fan convention for Gerry Anderson's "UFO" TV series 55 years later, in 2025? Yes, believe it or not, "PROJECT FORD and UFOria 3: ALIENS ATTACK (part 1)" took place on Friday October 31 - Sunday November 2, 2025, at the Moor Hall hotel/conference center in Cookham UK, northwest of London. Unlike the UFOria and UFOria 2 events in the 1980's, this was a DangerZone Production with support from Fanderson. And apparently there is a "Part 2" in the works for 2026!
One of the main activities for this event was a location tour on Saturday for various outdoor scenes from various episodes of UFO. In addition there were guest panels, original and replica models, merchandise for sale, autographs, etc. The advertised guests were Keith Alexander (Lt. Keith Ford in UFO), Ayshea Brough (Lt. Ayshea Johnson in UFO), Mary Turner (puppet builder and performer in Gerry Anderson's Supermarionation TV series), plus a "surprise guest" to be revealed during the location tour.
Registrations were limited to what the location tour bus could accommodate (66 people), although one-day tickets were offered for Sunday.
The location tour on Saturday primarily focused on locations around Pinewood Studios (apparently part 2 will focus on locations around the old MGM British Studios in Borehamwood). The visited locations were:
Park Lane, Burnham Beeches (where the UFO attacked the Rolls-Royce in IDENTIFIED)
Wexham Park Hospital (used for "Straker driving to the hospital" scenes in THE LONG SLEEP)
Langley Park (where Catherine was chased/attacked in THE LONG SLEEP)
Black Park (forest/lake in IDENTIFIED, COMPUTER AFFAIR, THE SOUND OF SILENCE)
Pinewood Studios old gate (seen as a studio entrance in TIMELASH)
"Coach House" (the farmhouse in THE LONG SLEEP)
Canal Bridge, Benbow Waye (by the houseboat in THE LONG SLEEP)
Harefield Church (cemetery in THE SQUARE TRIANGLE)
"The Quarters" Hotel in Watford (Straker honeymoon hotel in CONFETTI CHECK A-OK)
York House School (SHADO health farm in ORDEAL)
Marlyn Cottage (Mary Straker/Rutland house in A QUESTION OF PRIORITIES)
And the surprise guest was Susanne Neve (Mary Straker in UFO), who was waiting for the attendees at the Mary Straker/Rutland house!

Guests Keith Alexander, Ayshea Brough, and Mary Turner were at the Moor Hotel for guest panels and autographs. It was a rare in-person UK appearance for Keith Alexander, who resides in Australia and is now 95 years old! And besides his role in UFO, he also did voice work for THUNDERBIRDS and JOE 90. Here are some photos, again courtesy of Derek Eaton and Manuela Battistelli.
At the Moor Hotel there were rooms/tables setup to display various UFO and Gerry Anderson memorabilia, including some original (used while filming the show) and replica models. Here are some photos, again courtesy of Derek Eaton and Manuela Battistelli.

Outside the Moor Hotel on Sunday was an original SHADO Jeep, which various guests and attendees got a chance to ride in. This is jeep that was discovered in a scrapyard on the island of Tenerife in 2014 and then rescued and restored by James Winch in the UK.
